Kapil
Sharma was born on 2nd April 1981 in Amritsar, Punjab. His father
was a Head Constable in Punjab Police and his Mother is a Housewife.
Kapil was
very talented from his childhood, but, his initial days were full of struggle. While
he was just studying in the PBN Senior Secondary School in Amritsar, his father
was diagnosed with Cancer due to which the condition of his family became very
critical as almost all the income of his Father is going in Medical treatment.
At this point of time he don’t even have that much of money so that he will be
able to pay his school fee. So he started working in a PCO to make some money
for his expenses.
He started
taking part in almost all the cultural activities in his school and has a dream
to become a Singer. After completing his School, he Joined HINDU College with
Arts as the main subject. While he was studying his father became very ill due
to which he was admitted to AIIMS hospital in DELHI and unfortunately in 2004
he died leaving Kapil and his family behind. After the death of his father, a
lot of responsibilities came on the shoulders of Kapil Sharma. Now, One person
in the family is eligible for the job in Punjab police in place of his father
and Kapil’s mother wants him to join the Police but he refused and his elder
brother joined.
Once again
he was left without money to pay his college fee so, he decided to take theatre
classes in his college to earn some money for his expenses. One day while taking
the class he did mimicry of one of his teachers and everybody liked it so much
which made Kapil think that when he is so good at this then why can’t he try in
comedy. This thought became the turning point of his life. In 2005 he went for
an audition in THE GREAT INDIAN LAUGHTER CHALLENGE but was rejected for the
first time. Even after getting rejected, he didn’t lose his hope. Moreover, he
worked day and night to improve his skills. With his dedication towards his
work and hard work, he again went on the audition of the same show and this time
got selected and also become the winner of the show. He got Rs10 lakh as a
winning amount from which he did the marriage of his sister Pooja Sharma.
After
getting success in his First Show he never turned back and the very next year
he took part in one more comedy show “USTAADON KE USTAAD” and here, he not only
won the show but with his humor he made a secret place in the heart of every
viewer. After this, in 2008 he hosted a comedy show “CHOTE MIYA”. After this,
in 2009 he appeared in “HASS BALIYA”. After this, in 2010 he participated in
the most famous comedy show “COMEDY CIRCUS” and he won two seasons of this show
back to back. After this he made a hat trick by winning another comedy show “JUBILEE
COMEDY CIRCUS” and “COMEDY CIRCUS KA NAYA DAUR”.
In 2013 he
stepped into the field of production with his own Production house “K9
PRODUCTION HOUSE” and the same year he started his own show “COMEDY NIGHTS WITH
KAPIL” in collaboration with Colors TV. This show has become extremely popular
and become one of the most viewed comedy show in India. Almost every Actor came
to his show to promote their Movies including Amitabh Bachhan, Shah Rukh Khan,
Salman Khan, etc. Now everything is getting on the track in Kapil’s life, but
one day his set caught fire in which he faced a major loss financially. But, he
didn’t lose his hope and by borrowing money from his friends he again started
his show and this time he returned with a bang.
Presently,
he is running his show “THE KAPIL SHARMA SHOW” on SONY TV and with also working
on some projects in Bollywood like FIRANG.
